On November 4, Xiangyang Heavy Equipment Materials Co., a subsidiary of Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp. (WISCO), successfully completed hot load testing of its spring steel production project, as announced by Beijing-based state-owned China Metallurgical Corporation (MCC) on November 7. Construction work on the project, which is located in Xiangyang in Hubei Province, was carried out by MCC subsidiary WISDRI Engineering & Research Incorporation Ltd.

The project in question has an annual output capacity of 300,000 mt of spring steel. With the commencement of production operations, the new facility will replace current outdated rolled steel production lines and is expected to contribute to the sustainable development of local enterprises.
