The Brazilian Gerdau group posted a consolidated net profit equivalent to $203.485 million for the first quarter of 2026, 32 percent higher than during the same period in 2025.
While net sales declined by 3.8 percent to $3.356 billion, and production costs dropped by 6.5 percent to $2.895 billion, gross profit increased by 17.8 percent to $460.6 million, while operational profits soared by 32.3 percent to $368.3 million.
By volume, crude steel production increased to 3.149 million mt, a 5.5 percent rise, while sales of steel products declined by 1.6 percent to 2.811 million mt.
Excluding eliminations, during the first quarter of 2026, Brazil accounted for 20.3 percent of the group's EBITDA, 49.0 percent of its steel shipments, and 41.3 percent of net sales. In comparison, North America contributed 79.1 percent of EBITDA, 43.9 percent of steel shipments, and 54.3 percent of net sales. South America made up 6.9 percent of EBITDA, 10.5 percent of steel shipments, and 0.7 percent of net sales.
