In the first quarter this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 4.2 percent year on year to 453,378 units, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).

New EU truck registrations recorded an increase of 10.6 percent year on year to 81,766 units in the first quarter this year. This growth was predominantly driven by a 12.6 percent surge in heavy-truck sales, alongside a more modest 0.7 percent increase in medium-truck registrations.

In the given period, most major EU markets saw increases in truck registrations, including Poland (+32.8%), Spain (+17.1%) and Germany (+6.9%), while France experienced a decline of 1.4 percent compared to the first quarter of 2025.

On the other hand, bus sales rose by 24.5 percent year on year compared to the first quarter of 2025, totaling 10,964 units.
