In February this year, new car registrations totaled 957,052 units in the European Union (EU), decreasing by 7.4 percent year on year due to weakening global economic conditions and consumer uncertainty, according to the latest figures issued by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
In February, demand for new cars fell across almost the entire European Union, including the EU’s four major markets. Germany posted the highest decrease, with a 10.8 percent drop. Meanwhile, demand for new cars declined by 8.8 percent in Italy, by six percent in Spain and 2.7 percent in France.
