On February 9, the European Commission made its final determinations in the sunset review of the antidumping orders against steel wire ropes and cables from China, Ukraine and South Africa, which was initiated in November 2010.

As expected, affirmative determinations have been made with respect to the orders against China and Ukraine. Meanwhile, during the investigation period, there were few imports from South Africa of the products covered by the AD order, and so the EU decided to cancel the antidumping order with respect to South Africa.

The European Commission has calculated the following dumping margins: 60.4 percent for imports from Chinese enterprises, and 51.8 percent for Ukrainian imports.

The steel products covered by the AD order fall within CN codes 73121081, 73121083, 73121085, 73121089, and 73121098.
