CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales down 13.9% in January 2026

Passenger vehicle retail sales in China are estimated to have amounted to 1.544 million units in January this year, down 13.9 percent year on year, while decreasing by 31.7 percent month on month, according to the analysis of the car market by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). 

According to the CPCA, the year-on-year decrease in passenger vehicle retail sales was quite normal due to the impact of the Chinese New Year holiday.
