Construction of major ferroalloy project to begin in Chongqing

China's 19th Metallurgical Corporation has signed an agreement with Chongqing-based Bosai Mining (Group) Co., according to which construction work for the first phase of Chongqing Dalang Metallurgical New Materials' ferroalloy production project will be carried out by China's 19th Metallurgical Corp., as announced by China Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC). The first phase of the project will have an annual output capacity of 500,000 mt.

Chongqing Dalang Metallurgical New Materials Ltd is a joint venture set up by Bosai Mining (Group) Co. and Chongqing Fuling Julong Electric Power Co. With a planned total investment of RMB 3.0 billion ($0.48 billion), the overall project involves the construction in two phases of a ferroalloy production base with a total capacity of 1 million mt, which will be the largest ferroalloy production base in Asia. Construction work on the first phase of the project will be completed in 480 days.
