Colombian iron and steel exports down 17.7 percent in 2015

In 2015, Colombia exported 128,632 mt of ferronickel, down three percent, with a value of $429.8, decreasing by 32.9 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In December last year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 11,609 mt, falling by 10.1 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $28 million, down 50.3 percent, both compared to December 2014.
 
In 2015, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 193,219 mt, down 17.7 percent, with a value of $521.6 million, declining by 33.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In December last year, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 17,660 mt, decreasing by 22.7 percent, and were worth $35.2 million, down 49.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2014.
