In the January-April period of this year, Colombia exported 41,055 mt of ferronickel, up 157.6 percent, with a value of $159.85 million, increasing by 216.7 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In April this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 14,186 mt, rising by 738.1 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $60.4 million, up 1.254 percent, both compared to April 2017.
In the January-April period of 2018, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 80,682 mt, up 81.6 percent, with a value of $225.86 million, rising by 152.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In April, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 30,020 mt, increasing by 205.7 percent, and were worth $84.63 million, up 381.9 percent, both compared to the same month of 2017.
