Colombian iron and steel export volume up 46.9 percent in H1

In the first half of this year, Colombia exported 67,720 mt of ferronickel, up 53.1 percent, with a value of $278.22 million, increasing by 99.8 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In June this year, the country's ferronickel exports amounted to 10,589 mt, increasing by 25.7 percent, while the revenue from these exports was $47.88 million, up 82.1 percent, both compared to June 2017.

In the first six months of 2018, Colombia's iron and steel export volume totaled 125,132 mt, up 46.9 percent, with a value of $376.04 million, rising by 87.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In June, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 16,150 mt, increasing by 14.1 percent, and were worth $59.18 million, up 51.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2017.
