Colombian crude steel production drops 7.3 percent in August

Colombian crude steel production in August dropped 7.3 percent, year-on-year, to 99,510 mt, according to the nation’s Committee of Steel Producers (CPA).

According to CPA, Colombian crude steel output in August decreased 13.6 percent, month-on-month, from 115,290 mt.

Colombian longs finished steel production in August was 87,934 mt, 25.2 percent down, year-on-year. Longs finished steel output in August fell 20.5 percent, month-on-month, when compared to 110,610 mt in July.

As for the accumulated period of January to August, Colombian crude steel output was 786,863 mt, 8.5 percent down, year-on-year. Accumulated Colombian longs finished steel production in the eight-month period was 817,174 mt, 9 percent down, year-on-year.
