Colombian crude steel production in May increased 11.1 percent from April, but dropped nearly 3 percent, year-on-year, to 101,823 mt, according to data released by the country’s Committee of Steel Producers (CPA).
As for the accumulated period of January to May, Colombian crude steel production totaled 468,953 mt, 11.3 percent down, year-on-year.
CPA said Colombian longs finished steel production in May was 103,593 mt in May, a decrease of 6 percent year-on-year but an increase of 10.8 percent month-on-month.
As for the accumulated period of January to May, Colombian longs finished steel output was 504,563 mt, 10.1 percent down, year-on-year.
