Colombian crude steel production declines in February

Colombian crude steel output in the second month of the year declined 6.1 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the nation’s Committee of Steel Producers (CPA).

Colombian crude steel production in February totaled 102,214 mt, down from 108,865 mt in the same month of the year prior.

As for the accumulative period of January to February, local crude steel output totaled 190,167 mt, 6 percent down, year-on-year.

CPA said long finished steel output in February reached 124,174 mt, 12.1 percent up, year-on-year.

As for the two-month period from January to February, Colombian long finished steel production rose 7.3 percent, year-on-year, to 229,623 mt.
