Colombian crude steel output declines in January

Colombian crude steel production in January decreased 5.6 percent, year-on-year, according to data released by the country’s Committee of Steel Producers (CPA).

According to CPA, local crude steel production for the first month of the year was 87,953 mt, 13.8 percent down, month-on-month, from 102,053 mt in December last year.

Colombia’s long finished steel output in January was 105,460 mt, 1.6 percent up, year-on-year, but 16 percent down, month-on-month, from 125,669 mt in December 2017.
