Colombian crude steel output declines in December

Colombian crude steel output in December declined 8.3 percent, year-on-year, to 96,931 mt, according to a report from the committee of steel producers (CPA). Colombian crude steel production in the last month of the year increased 13 percent, month-on-month, from 85,747 mt in November.

CPA said local longs finished steel output in December reached 88,381 mt, 11.1 percent down, year-on-year. Colombian longs finished steel production in December also dropped 11.7 percent, month-on-month, from 100,119 mt in November.

As for the full year of 2019, Colombian crude steel output was 1.33 million mt, nearly 8 percent up, year-on-year. Colombian long finished steel output in 2019 rose 7 percent, year-on-year, to 1.33 million mt.
