Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has stated that it has dispatched 1,828 mt of large diameter (LD) pipes with a polypropylene anti-corrosion coating and thickness of 6 mm produced by its workshop Vysota 239, intended for the first stage of the Southern Corridor gas pipeline, to Russian state gas monopoly Gazprom. A part of the shipment consisted of 1,420 mm diameter pipes, while the remainder consisted of 720 mm diameter pipes.

The polypropylene coating protects pipes in extreme conditions during laying of a pipeline under the sea, during directional drilling and in operation temperatures up to 110 ºC .

Production of polypropylene coated LD pipes at the workshop Vysota 239 is certified by the standards of Gazprom and Transneft. Over the past six months, the company upgraded the coating line, increased productivity and expanded the range of products.
