Russia-based steel pipe producer ChTPZ Group has stated that it has upgraded its seamless cold-formed pipe production facility at a cost of over RUB 5 million ($0.106 million).

Uran 3000 automated equipment for measuring wall thickness was installed at the ChTPZ Group's Chelyabinsk Tube Rolling Plant. The device is expected to ensure 100 percent wall quality control for virtually all of ChTPZ Group's cold-formed seamless pipes, as it is consistency of wall thickness along the entire pipe's length that makes the product fully reliable. The software with the Uran 3000 equipment makes it possible to save the measurement records and present them to the customer if necessary.
