Chinese Government puts CRC anti-dumping duty into force
A possibility is pronounced in the market that the Chinese Government is bringing into force the previously determined anti-dumping duties on cold rolled steel products. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce affirmed that the dumping of the investigated products made substantive damage to Chinese steel industry. Following the repeal of the safeguard measures, it was expected by some industry analysts that the AD duties, determined back in September 23, 2003 but postponed due to special market conditions at that date, would be soon put in effect on CR imports. It is stated that the duties will now come into effect by January 14, 2004. The exporter countries which will be subject to these anti-dumping duties are Kazakhstan, Korea, Russia, Taiwan and Ukraine. The investigated items include;72091500 - crc, width >= 600mm, thickness >= 3.0mm 72091600 - crc, width >= 600mm, 1.0mm < thickness < 3.0mm 72091700 - crc, width >= 600mm, 0.5mm <= thickness <= 1.0mm 72091800 - crc, width >= 600mm, thickness < 0.5mm (TMBP excluded) 72092500 - crs, width >= 600mm, thickness >= 3.0mm 72092600 - crs, width >= 600mm, 1.0mm < thickness < 3.0mm 72092700 - crs, width >= 600mm, 0.5mm <= thickness <= 1.0mm 72092800 - crs, width >= 600mm, thickness < 0.5mm 72099000 - cr, width >= 600mm, others 72112300 - cr, width < 600mm, carbon < 0.25% 72112900 - cr, width < 600mm, carbon >= 0.25% 72119000 - cr, width < 600mm, othersCold rolled steel for producing tinplate listed under no. 72091800 is excluded from the investigation.
