China’s auto output up 3.2 percent in January-May

According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) , during the first five months this year the output and sales of automotive vehicles in China reached 8 million units and 8.02 million units respectively, up 3.2 percent and 1.7 percent year on year.
 
In May alone, Chinese auto output and sales came to 1.57 million units and 1.60 million units respectively, down 1.1 percent and 4.7 percent compared to the previous month, but up 16 percent and 16.2 percent year on year. In particular, output and sales of passenger vehicles in China in May totaled 1.27 million units and 1.28 million units, down 2.8 percent and up 0.5 percent month on month, and rising 22.6 percent and 21.6 percent year on year, respectively.
