Canadian new vehicle sales down 0.1 percent in June

According to Statistics Canada, new motor vehicle sales in June 2023 totaled 165,418 units, reflecting a decrease of 0.1 percent month-on-month and an increase of 8.4 percent year-on-year. By value, Canadian vehicle sales in June totaled $8.86 billion, compared to $9.36 billion in May and $8.09 billion in June 2022.

Canadian sales of vehicles manufactured in North America totaled 121,201 units in June at a value of $6.68 billion, while sales of vehicles manufactured overseas totaled 44,217 units at a value of $2.18 billion.
