Canada to offer financial support to companies affected by US Section 232 tariffs

Canada will offer up to C$800 million ($603 million) in aid to companies and workers, which are affected by the US Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, according a report by Reuters.

Chrystia Freeland, Canada’s foreign affairs minister, is expected to make an announcement in Hamilton, the largest steel manufacturing city in Canada, today, June 29. Freeland will also announce the list of US goods on which Canada intends to implement retaliatory tariffs, according to Reuters.
