Brazil extends probe into pipe from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam

Brazil’s ministry of industry, foreign trade, and services has extended for up to eight months, effective on February 24, 2018, the conclusion of an ongoing antidumping (AD) investigation into the imports of welded steel pipe from Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The probe involves welded pipe, including austenitic stainless steel tubing of the grades 304 and 316, with a circular cross-section, external diameter equal to or greater than 6mm, but not superior to 2.032 mm, and with a thickness equal to or superior to 0.40 mm, but equal or inferior to 12.70 mm.

The products currently under investigation fall under the Mercosur HTS codes 7306.40.00 and 7306.90.20.
