In 2010, Liaoning Province-based Benxi Steel Group exported 2.8 million mt of steel products, rising by 185.7 percent from 950,000 mt in 2009, thus ranking first among Chinese steelmakers in terms of steel export volume.

In the first half of 2010, Benxi Steel exported a large volume of line pipes to Australia, while it also exported hot rolled coil and cold rolled coil to major Indian auto manufacturers - the first time the company exported auto sheets. In the last half of the year, Benxi Steel exported low-alloy high-strength steel to the European and Southeast Asian markets for the first time, against the background of the Chinese government's cancellation of export tax rebates for certain steel products.
