Baotou Steel reports progress on construction of new seamless pipe facility

Inner Mongolia-based Chinese steel producer Baotou Steel Group (Baotou Steel) has reported progress on the construction of its new 159 mm seamless pipe production line.
 
The project has been designed by Chinese engineering company Beris Engineering and Research Corporation. The main equipment for the production line is currently being installed, according to Baotou Steel.

As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the project in question, which forms part of Baotou Steel's production structure adjustment program, will cost RMB 1.98 billion ($290 million) and will an annual output capacity of 400,000 mt. The new line will produce seamless pipes in 38-168 mm diameters and with maximum thickness of 25 mm.
