In October this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 76.49 percent year on year and were down by 6.3 percent month on month to 21,571 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey declined by 76.15 percent year on year and were down by 4.5 percent month on month to 16,809 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 77.6 percent year on year and were down by 12.3 percent month on month to 4,762 units.
Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 32.55 percent year on year, amounting to 485,027 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 30.68 percent to 379,274 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 38.51 percent to 105,753 units, both on year-on-year basis.
