In July this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales totaled 86,622 units, rising by 39 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the same month, Turkey's passenger car sales totaled 64,218 units, up 38 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales amounted to 541,891 units, up 48 percent on year-on-year basis.
In the January-July period, Turkey's motor vehicle exports totaled 560,132 units, up five percent, while passenger car exports decreased by three percent to 341,165 units, both year on year.
In the same period, the country exported 187,315 small trucks, up 15 percent year on year. In the period in question, revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports decreased by 11 percent to $12.42 billion, while the revenues from passenger car exports totaled $4.37 billion, declining by 12 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In July of the current year, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 57,474 units, increasing by 39 percent, while passenger car imports totaled 47,096 units, rising by 48 percent, both year on year. In the first seven months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 351,620, while passenger car imports reached 291,303 units, both rising by 43 percent year on year.
