Automotive sales in Turkey down 33 percent in September from August

In September this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 67.73 percent year on year and were down by 33 percent month on month to 23,028 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey declined by 67.06 percent year on year and were down by 34.8 percent month on month to 17,595 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 69.7 percent year on year and were down by 26.3 percent month on month to 5,433 units.

Meanwhile, in the January-September period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 26.12 percent year on year, amounting to 463,456 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 23.95 percent to 362,465 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 33 percent to 100,991 units, both on year-on-year basis.
