In July this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey declined by 35.92 percent year on year and were up by 3.3 percent month on month to 52,734 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 32.64 percent year on year and were up by 1.9 percent month on month to 42,024 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 46.2 percent year on year and were up by 9.1 percent month on month to 10,710 units.
Meanwhile, in the January-July period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 16 percent year on year, amounting to 406,082 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 13.7 percent to 317,894 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 23.4 percent to 88,188 units, both on year-on-year basis.
