Automotive sales in Turkey down 29.8 percent in June from May

In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey declined by 38.99 percent year on year and were down by 29.8 percent month on month to 51,037 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 37.69 percent year on year and were down by 28 percent month on month to 41,225 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles dropped by 43.9 percent year on year and were down by 36.8 percent month on month to 9,812 units.

Meanwhile, in the January-June period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 11.9 percent year on year, amounting to 353,348 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country were down by 9.8 percent to 275,870 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 18.6 percent to 77,478 units, both on year-on-year basis.
