Automotive production in Mexico rises 17.1 percent in April

Automotive production in Mexico grew 17.1 percent, year-over-year, in April, totaling 294,550 vehicles, the 12th consecutive annual increase, according to a SteelOrbis analysis of data from national statistics agency Inegi.

Highlighted in the last 29 months (since December 2020), monthly production has exceeded 300,000 units only four times since 2019.

From January to April, 1.22 million vehicles were manufactured, 10.6 percent more compared to the same period last year.

In the international market, the automotive industry exported 253,335 units, 5.0 percent more than in April last year. During April 2023, 994,641 units were exported, 7.8 percent more than in the same period of 2022.
