Austria-based plant and equipment supplier Andritz has announced that it will supply a reversible 6-high cold rolling mill to ArcelorMittal France, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-headquartered global steelmaker ArcelorMittal, for processing high grade non-grain-oriented silicon steel strip at the new production complex for electrical steels at its site in Mardyck, northern France.

The new reversible 6-high cold rolling mill, which will be capable of rolling up to 1,450 mm wide strip to a minimum finished material gauge of 0.2 mm, will enable ArcelorMittal France to meet the challenging quality demands on the end product at a high production level.

The core equipment will be pre-assembled and tested at the Andritz workshop in Hemer, Germany.
