Handique, invited India to invest in his country's mining sector, particularly in iron ore, copper, gold and coal.

The two ministers discussed possible cooperation of Geological Survey of India with Afghan Geological Survey for capacity building of Afghan geoscientists in the field of mineral exploration, seismotectonics, geo-technical studies and other areas.

Mr. Shahrani thanked India for providing support for infrastructure building and overall cooperation, and he said that Afghanistan is organizing a roadshow on iron ore in London on June 25, 2010, in which about 200 global companies including those from India have been invited to showcase mining exploration potential in Afghanistan.

India has undertaken, in partnership with the Karzai government, projects in virtually all parts of Afghanistan and a whole range of sectors including hydroelectricity, electric transmission, road construction, agriculture, industry, telecommunications, information & broadcasting, education and health.
