Taiwan imports almost 2.7 million mt of scrap in 2017

According to Taiwan’s custom data, Taiwan imported 2.67 million mt of ferrous scrap in 2017. Of the total, 1.16 million mt was from the US (43 percent), 0.37 million mt from Japan (14 percent), 0.31 million mt from China (12 percent), 0.13 million mt from Hong Kong (5 percent), 0.12 million mt from Australia (4 percent), 0.10 million from the Dominican Republic (4 percent), and 0.48 million mt from other countries (18 percent).
