US line pipe market still trends strong

Overall sentiment within the US domestic and import line pipe market continues to trend optimistic due to year-over-year upticks in rig count and still-strong oil prices. Activity, sources say, continues to remain decent.

In terms of pricing, US domestic API-X52 line pipe is being heard at $54-$55 cwt. ($1,191-$1,213/mt or $1,080-$1,100/nt), FOB Houston.

Prices for US import API-X52 ERW line pipe from Mexico in the US domestic market have increased by $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) in the past week, and are now being heard at $46.50-$47.50 cwt. ($1,025-$1,047/mt or $930-$950/nt), FOB Houston.

Prices of US import API-X52 ERW line pipe from Korea are also being heard at approximately $47.50 cwt. ($1,047/mt or $950/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.
