US import line pipe prices firm month-over-month

Sources close to SteelOrbis have confirmed that offer prices for Korean API X-52 line pipe in the US domestic market are being heard in the approximate range of $42.50-$44.00 cwt. ($937-$970/mt or $850-$880/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports; in contrast, in late-February, offer prices for Korean API X-52 line pipe in the US domestic market were trending at $40.50-$41.50 cwt. ($893-$915/mt or $810-$830/nt), DDP loaded truck in US Gulf coast ports.
 
In terms of current import volumes, the most recent data from the US Department of Commerce indicates that for the month of February, the US imported 46,479 mt (license data) of line pipe from Korean steelmakers. In February 2015, the US imported 62,694 mt of Korean line pipe.
