Seamless pipe prices have continued to decline in Spain amid still sluggish buying activity and soft demand from end-users. Domestic and export quotations of Spanish seamless pipes have decreased by €20-50/mt ($26-65/mt) over the past month, though in the US dollar terms export prices have increased by $22-64/mt.

Meanwhile, prices offered from China have decreased by €10-20/mt ($13-26/mt) over the past month, while quotations of Ukrainian material have declined by €20-40/mt ($26-52/mt). At the same time, import prices for Italian seamless pipes have moved down by a maximum of €20/mt ($26/mt) over the period under review.

Seamless pipe prices in Spain will unlikely rise in the coming month as demand is expected to remain sluggish, and most buyers hope for further price reductions. Also, lower import offers of seamless pipes to the Spanish market force local suppliers to be flexible.

Current Spanish domestic prices for 2"-4" hot-formed seamless pipes, grade B made to ASTM A106, are at around €1,070-1,100/mt ($1,391-1,430/mt) ex-works, while 6"-10" pipes are at €1,150-1,200/mt ($1,495-1,560/mt) ex-works.

Current export prices of Spanish seamless pipes, 2"-4" grade B according to ASTM A106, are varying at around €1,100-1,150/mt ($1,430-1,495/mt) FOB, while 6"-10" seamless pipes are at €1,200-1,250/mt ($1,560-1,625/mt) FOB.

Prices for Chinese seamless pipes, 2"-6" grade B made to ASTM A106/API 5L, are at about €740-830/mt ($962-1,079/mt) CFR Spain, exclusive of antidumping duties (in the range of 17.7-39.2 percent depending on the producer).

Offers of September production Ukrainian seamless pipes with 42-168 mm diameter of 10, 20 steel grade made to GOST 8731/8732 are being given to Spain at €880-920/mt ($1,144-1,196/mt) CPT. Prices are shown exclusive of 13.8 percent antidumping duty.

Quotations of Italian seamless pipes, 8"-10" grade B made to ASTM A106, to Spain are at €1,230-1,280/mt ($1,599-1,664/mt) CPT.
