Local Chinese steel pipe prices have continued their downward trend during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have decreased during the past seven days amid declines in prices of billet and raw materials. Overall trading activity has been weak due to the hot summer weather and Covid-19 measures. As for the week ahead, it is believed that seamless pipe prices may continue their downward trend.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have moved down during the past week amid lower welded steel strip prices. Overall trading activity has been weak during the current offseason and traders have mostly been willing to offer lower prices in order to close more deals. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices will continue to move down.
