Having completed their purchases for October delivery, buyers in the local European welded pipe market were expected to start their bookings for November delivery. However, amid the lack of a clear outlook regarding the price trend for November, buyers have adopted a wait-and-see stance and are in no rush to make new bookings. Meanwhile, due to the imposition of quotas on steel imports in Europe and the 25 percent import tariff to be implemented when the quotas are exhausted, European buyers mostly prefer to meet their needs for welded pipe from their domestic market and therefore demand for imported welded pipe in the region has slowed down. In line with the declines in the welded pipe export prices of Turkish producers, which are among the leading suppliers of welded pipe to the European market, European mills are expected to revise their prices downwards in the coming period. For now, prices in the local European welded pipe market have remained stable week on week. Accordingly, a Bulgarian steel producer’s offers for ERW pipes as per EN 10219 are at €610-650/meter ($714-761/meter) CPT. The Bulgarian welded pipe producer’s quotations to Hungary and Poland are at €620-630/meter ($725-737/meter) CPT, with other offers to the Czech Republic and Austria being at €630-640/meter ($737-749/meter) CPT, while its offers to Germany and Romania are at €640-650/meter ($749-761/meter) CPT and €610-620/meter ($714-725/meter) CPT respectively.
