Turkey’s ship scrap market declines below $400/mt on lower end

Today, May 4, one Izmir-based Turkish mill has cut its ship scrap procurement price by $5/mt. The general price range is now at $395-405/mt for delivery to mill by truck, down $5/mt on the lower end. Other local producers are expected to follow suit and reduce their quotations.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:
