Having moved down since early last week, Turkey’s ship scrap market had declined by a total of $5-11/mt taking into account the latest adjustments made today, April 18, with two Turkish producers in the Izmir region cutting their ship scrap purchase prices by $2-5/mt. As a result, Turkey’s ship scrap purchase prices have declined by $4/mt on the upper end to the range of $340-351/mt.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Producer Price ($/mt) Price change ($/mt)
Özkan Demir Çelik 345 0
Habaş 340 0
Ege Çelik 351 -2
İDÇ 350 -5

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
