The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is $870/mt, stable over the last four weeks, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In January, Brazil exported 22,200 mt and imported 34,600 mt of rebars against respectively 34,400 mt and 12,600 mt in December.
The exports of January were destined to South American countries (17,400 mt at $676/mt) and to the US (4,800 mt at $602/mt), shipped by ArcelorMittal (15,100 mt at $676/mt) and Gerdau (7,100 mt at $627/mt), FOB conditions.
The imports were from Egypt (34,500 mt at $568/mt) and Germany (100 mt at $1,600/mt), also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 6,100/mt ($1,070/mt) against BRL 6,150/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
