The reference price for the export of rebars by Brazilian producers is $870/mt against $890/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions for the CA-50 grade, for sales to South American countries.
In April, Brazil exported 27,700 mt and imported 12,100 mt of rebars against respectively 34,500 mt and 26,300 mt in March, according to SECEX.
The exports of April were all destined to South American countries, shipped by ArcelorMittal (23,100 mt at $728/mt) and Gerdau (4,600 mt at $623/mt), FOB conditions.
The import was from Egypt, at $571/mt, also FOB conditions.
In the Brazilian domestic market, rebars are offered by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 6,200/mt ($1,088/mt) against BRL 6,250/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI, for the supply in the country’s southeast and south regions.
