SteelOrbis has learned from market sources that rebar and wire rod prices in the Bulgarian domestic market have softened by BGN 5/mt on the upper end of price ranges in the past two weeks, while angle and flat bar prices have remained unchanged.
Long steel product prices in the Bulgarian domestic market are currently as follows:
Price (BGN/mt) |
Price ($/mt) |
|
Rebar |
915-920 |
614-617 |
Wire |
945-950 |
634-638 |
Equal angle |
1,050-1,070 |
705-718 |
Flat bar |
1,070-1,080 |
718-725 |
All prices are for deliveries to customer and exclude VAT.
On the import side, Turkish long steel product offers to Bulgaria have trended sideways in the past two weeks. Accordingly, Turkish rebar offers to the Bulgarian market are still standing at $560/mt FOB, while wire rod offers and angle offers from Turkey are at $565/mt FOB and $615/mt FOB respectively, all for shipments in July.
Market sources think that Bulgarian long steel producers may further soften their domestic prices, in view of the continuing sluggishness in demand, the imbalance between supply and demand, and the expected slowdown in the market during the summer.
