On July 10, Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel Co. (WISCO) issued its flat steel sales prices for August shipment. The details are as follows (all comparisons being with July prices):
1. Hot rolled coil (HRS) and hot rolled sheet (HRS)
The price of RCL590F grade duplex stainless hot rolled sheet for application in automobiles has increased by RMB 180/mt ($29/mt), while the prices of other hot rolled products have increased by RMB 100/mt ($16/mt). As a result, the prices of 3.0 mm x 1,250 mm SPHC grade hot rolled coil (HRC), 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm Q235 grade HRC and 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm Q235 grade HRC are respectively standing at RMB 3,690/mt ($600/mt), RMB 3,650/mt ($593/mt) and RMB 3,610/mt ($586/mt).
2. Rolled plate
The prices of all rolled plates have remained unchanged. Accordingly, 14-40 mm Q235A and 14-40 mm Q345A grade plate prices are still standing at RMB 3,600/mt ($585/mt) and RMB 3,710/mt ($603/mt) respectively.
3. Pickled and oiled
The prices of all pickled and oiled products have remained unchanged.
4. Cold rolled (CR)
The prices of common cold rolled steel sheet have increased by RMB 80/mt ($13/mt), while the prices of cold rolled steel coil have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt).
The prices of cold rolled products for household appliance and welded steel products have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt).
As a result, the price of 1.0 mm Q195 grade cold rolled steel is currently standing at RMB 4,150/mt ($674/mt), while the price of 1.0 mm x 1,250 mm x CQ195 grade cold rolled steel is standing at RMB 4,120/mt ($669/mt).
5. Hot dip galvanized (HDG)
The prices of DX51, DX52 and DX53 grade HDG products have increased by RMB 50/mt ($8/mt). The price of 1.0 mm DX51D+Z HDG coil is now standing at RMB 4,670/mt ($759/mt).
6. Electro-galvanized
The prices of all electro-galvanized products have remained unchanged.
7. Tinplate
The prices of all tinplate products have remained unchanged.
8. Color-coated
The prices of all color-coated products have remained unchanged.
9. Non-grain-oriented (NGO) silicon steel
Silicon steel division:
The prices of medium and low grade NGO silicon steel products (including WHG-50 grade and 50WH470 grade) have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($32/mt). The prices of NGO silicon steel products with smaller width are offered at a discount of RMB 200/mt ($32/mt) on the prices of products with width of 1,200 mm.
Cold rolled steel mill: NGO silicon steel products are offered at a discount of RMB 200/mt ($32/mt) on the prices of products produced by the silicon steel division.
All prices are ex-works, exclude 17 percent VAT, and are effectively immediately.
