WISCO adjusts prices of certain steel products for May

Hubei Province-based Chinese steelmaker Wuhan Iron and Steel (Group) Corp. (WISCO) has adjusted its prices for certain steel products for May. The details are as follows (comparisons are with prices issued on March 24) :
 
1. Hot rolled products
Weathering steel coil prices are down by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). Meanwhile, the prices of common carbon coils, low alloy coils and ship building coils are up by RMB 50/mt ($7/mt). Thus, current price of SPHC 2.75 mm x 1,250 mm x C hot rolled coils is at RMB 4,490/mt ($683/mt) ex-works, while the price of Q235 5.5 mm x 1,500 mm x C is at the level of RMB 4,370/mt ($665/mt) ex-works.
 
The price of cut steel sheet is RMB 70/mt ($10/mt) higher than the price of slit steel coil.
 
2. Plate products
The price of 22SiMn2 has increased by RMB 150/mt ($22/mt), while the price of 27MnB is up by RMB 300/mt ($45/mt). While the price of medium and low temperature vessel steel has increased by RMB 150/mt ($22/mt), prices of ship building plate and prime carbon plate have decreased by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt) and RMB 260/mt ($39/mt) respectively. Currently, the ex-work price of Q235 14-20 mm medium plate is standing at RMB 4,430/mt ($674/mt).
 
3. Wire rod
The prices of WQ series and WER44-8 have increased by RMB 400/mt ($60/mt).
 
4. Non-grain-oriented silicon steel
Low grade 50WW700 and other grades below this level have decreased in price by RMB 200/mt ($30/mt).
 
Regarding the medium and high grade products, the price of 50WW470 (originally 50WW470-F) has decreased by RMB 200/mt ($30/mt).
 
5. The price of grain-oriented silicon steel is up by RMB 1,500/mt ($228/mt).
 
6. The prices of cold rolled products are unchanged, with the current ex-works price of SPCC 1.0 mm cold rolled sheet at RMB 5,000/mt ($761/mt), and the ex-works price of 1.0 mm cold rolled steel coils at RMB 4,950 ($753/mt).
 
7.  Hot dip galvanized
The prices of spangle-free products are unchanged. Normal spangle product prices are RMB 50/mt ($7/mt) lower than the prices of spangle-free products.
 
8. The prices of all kinds of PPGI have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($30/mt).
 
9.  The prices of heavy rail have remained unchanged.
 
All above prices exclude 17 percent VAT.
