Local tinplate prices in Turkey have increased over the past two weeks, basically in line with the general uptrend seen in the flats segment in the country and globally. In the meantime, demand has remained at sufficient levels.

According to sources, 0.3 mm TS275 2.8g/2.8m2 tinplate prices have increased by $50/mt since mid-November, with the product currently available in the local market at $870-900/mt ex-works. One producer is in the market to sell for January production, while another one is offering for end of January-February production. “End-user tinplate demand is there and the high HRC pricing is supporting the general sentiment in the market,” a local trading source told SteelOrbis.
