Reference price shows small increase for Brazilian slabs exports

According to sources, the reference price for the exports of slabs from Brazil is now $540/mt, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.

At least one deal was effectively closed at such price level which compares to $530/mt one week ago.

Sales reportedly closed recently at up to $550/mt, under the same conditions, were not able to be confirmed.

In August, Brazil exported 465,800 mt and imported 144,300 mt of slabs against respectively 954,600 mt and 185,400 mt in July.

Both volumes are expected to decline in September.
