The reference export price for Brazilian slabs is $455/mt, stable from last week, FOB conditions for basic commercial grades.
Remaining at the lowest level in recent years, it compares to a peak of $700/mt in early 2024.
In September, Brazil exported 476,800 mt of slabs, against 485,300 mt in August.
Ternium exported in September 192,200 mt of slabs to the US at $507/mt, while ArcelorMittal Tubarão exported 144,700 mt at $493/mt to the US, 48,200 mt at $500/mt to Mexico and 30,700 mt at $472/mt to Argentina, and ArcelorMittal Pecem exported 39,700 mt at $483/mt to Poland and 21,300 mt at $489/mt to the US.
During the first nine months of 2025, the US received 80 percent of the Brazilian slabs exports.
No imports of slabs were registered in September in Brazilian ports, compared to 30,500 mt in August.
