The reference price of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG), for export from Brazil to South American countries, is $900/mt today, against $920/mt four weeks ago, CFR conditions, having the G40 grade and 4.75 mm thickness product as reference.
In August, Brazil exported 13,600 mt and imported 26,100 mt of HDG against respectively 13,500 mt and 41,800 mt in July, according to SECEX.
The exports of August were destined to Argentina (9,300 mt at $1,470/mt) and to Belgium (4,300 mt at $318/mt), the latter certainly not a market price, FOB conditions.
Exports shipments were from ArcelorMittal (11,200 mt at $1,096/mt) and Usiminas (2,400 mt at $1,172/mt).
The imports came from China (20,200 mt at $645/mt), South Korea (5,000 mt at $929/mt), Hong Kong (500 mt at $635/mt), Italy (200 mt at $1,318/mt), and Portugal (200 mt at $1,188/mt).
In the Brazilian domestic market, HDG is currently sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, to end users or distributors, at BRL 6,100/mt ($1,134/mt) against BRL 6,200/mt four weeks ago, ex-works, full taxes except IPI.
