A source close to SteelOrbis said that Brazilian exports of hot dipped galvanized products (HDG) remain closed at $756/mt, FOB conditions, having the G40 grade as reference.

The price is stable since an 8 percent increase in early July and currently coupled with $40/mt of logistics costs to ship the product to the US, the main destination of the Brazilian HDG.

The average monthly exports of HDG from Brazil have increased from 29,000 mt in 2015 to 46,500 mt in 2016, reflecting chiefly marketing efforts by the Brazilian producer CSN next to its clients in the US.

In July, CSN exported HDG in average at $697/mt, Usiminas at $666/mt and ArcelorMittal at $673/mt, all FOB conditions, with price deals probably closed in May.
